Description
For best results, chill your bottle thoroughly in an ice bucket (neck down!) and then wipe away all moisture and remove any foil or cage holding the cork. Protective eyewear is recommended. Find the stress point, fitting your knife along the seam in the glass bottle running from its base to the lip. Hold the bottle firmly at a 30°–45° angle with your non-dominant hand. Prepare yourself, fixing your thumb into the bottle's punt and sliding your knife's blunt edge slowly along the seam to ready your arm for the proper motion. Ensure you're aiming the bottle away from any guests
